The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) has extended the bid due date for construction of Multi-Purpose Cargo Berth (Berth No. 17) with allied civil works at New Mangalore Port from September 18, 2024 to October 8, 2024. Bids for the same were invited in March 2024.

The scope of work involves construction of berth structure of 348 m length and 26 m width, approach bridge/trestle of 34 m length and 10 m width, 2 No.s connecting the berth from existing road along the shore revetment/ shore protection works of 400 m length on pre-dredged slope and all utilities etc. It is expected to be completed in 24 months.

The project is being implemented in the state of Karnataka in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode at an estimated cost of Rs 1,478.1 million.
