The Indian Navy has launched DSC A24, the fifth vessel under its diving support craft (DSC) project, at Titagarh Rail Systems shipyard in Kolkata. Built under the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, the indigenous craft is designed to support underwater diving operations, including harbour maintenance, salvage, inspections and repairs. Featuring a catamaran hull and a displacement of 300-400 tonnes, the vessel has been constructed in compliance with Indian Register of Shipping and naval standards.
