RKEC Projects Private Limited has emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder for construction of Multi-Purpose Cargo Berth (Berth No. 17) with allied civil works at New Mangalore Port. The company has quoted an amount worth Rs 1,269.99 million. Bids for the same were invited by the New Mangalore Port Authority in March 2024. 

Besides, L&T GeoStructures Limited has emerged as the L2 bidder by quoting an amount worth Rs 1,391 million.

The scope of work involves construction of berth structure of 348 m length and 26 m width, approach bridge/trestle of 34 m length and 10 m width, 2 No.s connecting the berth from existing road along the shore revetment/ shore protection works of 400 m length on pre-dredged slope and all utilities etc. It is expected to be completed in 24 months.

The project is being implemented in the state of Karnataka in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode.
